Training against LSU’s best wide receivers honed his skill set
LSU Tigers cornerback Kary Vincent Jr. explains how training against Ja’Marr Chase, Terrace Marshall and Justin Jefferson improved his defensive skills.
KARY VINCENT JR: Well, personally I feel like I’m the SEC’s best slide corner. I feel like this when I was here. I feel like the best slide corner of this draft.
I won’t say that there is one thing that I specifically need to work on as a player. As a person, there are always things you can improve on. And I work on little things day in and day out with coaches, with my coaches, Ryan Clark, Coach Raymond. So you know there is always room for improvement. But I feel like I’m on the right foot and on the right track.
– You’ve faced a lot of talent at LSU over the past few years in practice. How does this help you take your game to the next level?
KARY VINCENT JR: You come here as a DB, you’re going to take on guys like Ja’Marr Chase, you’re going to take on Terrace Marshall, you’re going to take on Justin Jefferson. And you know, these guys are – who are the best of the best. You know, one is the top receiver in college football, while another is one of the top five receivers in the league right now. And I don’t see how that wouldn’t help anyone. They have certainly benefited me as a player, as I believe I have done for them. And you know, being able to compete with these guys builds my confidence and reassures me that I’m, for sure, ready for the next level.
